Meet Rachel Shive, DMD
Dr. Shive is from Indiana. She completed her undergraduate degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at Bellarmine University, where she also competed as a swimmer. Upon graduating, Dr. Shive earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Louisville, where she primarily worked in the clinic and gained hands-on experience in various procedures. Her focus there was mainly on cosmetic dentistry while maintaining function, allowing her to hone her skills in creating beautiful smiles. Dr. Shive is committed to continuing education and staying up to date on the latest techniques and technologies to provide exceptional care for her patients.
Dr. Shive finds the most fulfilling part of dentistry to be the opportunity to connect with people while expressing creativity through her work. Every smile is unique, and she enjoys combining artistry, precision, and compassionate care to help her patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. Dr. Shive decided to become a dentist while in elementary school after experiencing how comfortable her dentist made her feel during visits. Now, she strives to provide friendly, empathetic care for her own patients every day.
Outside the office, you’ll often find Dr. Shive training for triathlons, spending time with her wiener dogs, or trying out new restaurants. She loves staying active, and completing a Half Ironman is one of her favorite accomplishments outside of dentistry. Dr. Shive’s goal is to build lasting relationships by listening to patients’ concerns, explaining treatment options clearly, and providing personalized care with attention to detail. She’s happy to be practicing at Cypress Dental and looks forward to working with families in and around Ormond Beach!
