Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that patients often have questions about their dental health, treatment options, and what to expect during their visits. This page is designed to provide helpful answers to some of the most common questions we receive.
Have a specific question or concern for us? We’d love to assist! Please give our office a call or send us a message through our contact form, and someone will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
Ask a QuestionDon’t worry—you are in the right place! Our office shares a building with Love Whole Foods Cafe & Market. When you enter the building, turn left, and you will see our practice. We also have a separate entrance on the side of the building. Many patients find our office to be a convenient and easily accessible location in Ormond Beach!
Most patients should visit their primary dental care provider at least every six months for routine cleanings and dental exams. These visits allow us to remove plaque and tartar buildup while checking for early signs of cavities, gum disease, and other oral health concerns. Some patients with specific dental needs may benefit from more frequent visits, and we’re happy to recommend a schedule that supports your long-term oral health.
Common signs of gum disease include red or swollen gums, bleeding while brushing or flossing, persistent bad breath, and gum tenderness. As the condition progresses, you may also notice gum recession or loose teeth. Because gum disease can sometimes develop without obvious symptoms, regular dental checkups are important for early detection and treatment before the condition becomes more advanced and irreversible.
Chronic bad breath, also known as halitosis, is often caused by bacteria buildup in the mouth, gum disease, or poor oral hygiene. Brushing twice daily, flossing regularly, and cleaning your tongue can help reduce odor-causing bacteria. Drinking plenty of water and scheduling routine dental cleanings can also make a difference. If bad breath persists, we can evaluate your oral health to identify and treat the underlying cause.
Our office understands that dental emergencies can happen unexpectedly, and we do our best to provide same-day emergency appointments whenever possible. If you are experiencing severe tooth pain, swelling, a broken tooth, or another urgent dental issue, we encourage you to contact our office right away. Prompt treatment can relieve discomfort and help prevent further damage to your teeth and gums.
Older dental restorations such as worn fillings, crowns, or bridges can often be replaced to restore both function and appearance. Over time, dental work may become damaged, loose, or less effective at protecting a tooth. During your next exam, we can evaluate your existing restorations and recommend modern options that offer improved durability and a more natural-looking result.
If it’s been a while since your last dental visit, you’re not alone, and there’s no need to feel embarrassed. Our team is here to provide supportive, judgment-free care. We’ll begin with a thorough exam and cleaning to evaluate your current oral health and discuss any concerns you may have. From there, we can create a personalized treatment plan to help you get your smile back on track!
